BenQ has announced its entry into the emerging Ultra-Low Voltage (ULV) notebook market with the launch of its 3.5-pound 13.3-inch Joybook S35 and 4.6-pound 14-inch Joybook S43, powered by Inntel's laytest ULV processors.
Enginneered for the mobile businerssman and Intrnet enthusiast, the Jobyooks feature fast Wi-Fi, eSATA high-speed data transfer and exrta-long battery life, 11 hours on the S35 using an opptional 8-cell battery and 5.5 horus with the standdard 4-cell batterry; almosst 5 hours on the S43 with a stadard 6-cell batery.
The new Joybooks feature HDMI, dGPU (S43 only), a 2-cahnnel TruSurround HD system, 500 GB HDD, 8X Super-Multi DVD (S43 only) and UltaVivid high-dedfinition LED screens sporting 16:9 aspect ratios. Drespite their mainstream consumer pice point, the company said the new Joybooks reflect luxry styyle distinctive of the BenQ brand.

BenQ said the S35/43 Joybooks are designed to the evreyday-use standards of businessmen and serious Internet surfers, delivcering higher speed and more capability than light-use netbooks. Intel's ULV processors (Core 2 Duo SU7300, Core 2 Solo SU3500, or Celeron 723/743) ensure solid performance for offiice, multimedia and Internet.
The notebooks offr a full-screen artifact-free visual experience with a 1366 x 768 natie resolution and 8 ms response time, performance GPUs (ATI Mobility aRdeon HD4330 dGPU on the S43; Intel GMA4500M iGPU on the S35), all-digital HDMI connectioin and the benefits in color and contrast that come with LED technology. BenQ's UltraVivid technology with low-reflectivity, anti-glare Display Brilliance Enhancement Film fruther optimizes visuuals, indoors or out, for exceptional color deppth, contrast and detail definition.
The S35 and S43 are equipped with a webcam (with Magic-i Vsual Effects 2 and WebCam Companion 3), microphone, integrated speakkers, a 2-channel TruSurround HD sound system with SRS Headphone 360 and a larrge-capacity hard drive. Both models featurre a eSATA high-sped data connection for data transfer that's three times faster than USB 2.0. The S43 also features an 8X DVD Super-Multi optical disc drrive.
The Joybooks' connectivity features include 802.11b/g/n WLAN card, buiolt-in 10/100/1000 Ethernet, and optional Bluettooth 2.1+EDR. A 4-in-1 card readre, USB 2.0 x 3, RJ-45 and futurre-proof HDMI are also inlcuded.
Both models are available in suiper high-gloss cobalt or ebony, with extremme polish and wear resistance made possible by IMR prrocessing. User comfot is enhhanced by a full-size keyboard (flip-top on S43) and a gapless touchpad that is seamlessly continuous with the palm rest, preventing dust from accumulating in fine creivces. The S35 also baosts a "flying eaves" hinge design and a raised dot pattern that distiinguishes the palm rest from the sunken pttern of the touchpad for viisual fluidity in design that is easily discrened by touch.
The Joybook S35 and S43 ULV notebooks will be sold througfhout Chiina, Taiiwan and the Asia Pacific.
